NAME: Katerina 'Kitty' Torres

BACKGROUND & HISTORY: Kitty was born to a single teen mother, who couldn't handle the pressure of raising a child, let alone a blind child. Her sister gladly took her in and raised Kitty at the animal rescue she runs at the edge of Siren Cove. Kitty grew up fully supported by her aunt and surrounded by plenty of dogs to act as her guide dogs, a job that was significantly eased by the fact that she could out and out talk to them. Even with her guides, she tended to avoid going into town. Too many people who underestimate her ability to take care of herself. That seems to be changing, as her aunt realizes that she's turning into a bit of a hermit and encourages her to spend more time in town.
Kitty's family's powers all revolve around animals, and go back for generations. About ten generations back, a curse was placed on the witches of the lineage, making it near impossible for them to resist taking animal form on the nights of the full moon. Kitty and her aunt are no exceptions to this curse, and can be heard howling and barking as they frolic on their lands in wolf form (their preffered form on these nights, considering the pack mentality helps them stay together) These monthly outings have led to strange rumours about the lands around their home, ones that they do nothing to dispell, since they keep wayward hunters off the land and away from the animals they keep there.
PERSONALITY: She doesn't take shit. Kitty isn't one to lash out or get loudly angry, but if you piss her off, she will call you out on it. She very much enjoys proving those who think she's limited by her blindness wrong. That doesn't stop her from playing the 'poor blind Filipina' card though. She figures, if you're dumb enough to underestimate her like that, you deserve to have her screw you over. When it comes to friends, she's very loyal though. You become part of her personal 'pack' and she will gladly put her life on the line for you.
Kitty loves animals, for obvious reasons. Hurt an animal, and she will hurt you back. Talk to her about animals and she will love you forever. She's also a pro at cooking, having taken over the task as soon as she was old enough to, since her aunt was horribly hopeless at it.
OPINION OF THE RIVALRY: She doesn't give a shit. She thinks the whole thing is ridiculous and there are much more important things that need to be taken care of.
LIFESTYLE: Kitty isn't poor. Her and her aunt earn the majority of their money taking in and rehabilitating and training race horses for rich people. Their methods are so effective, they can easily charge out the nose for their services, which keeps the rescue running, and allows for a good amount of pocket money for them both. She currently lives with her aunt in a small cottage at the edge of town, but as her aunt pushes her to get out more, that's likely to change. It's clear her aunt wants her to start tasting independence and that will likely include her own apartment.
